On Campus Again

So my dear blog readers who is excited about the visit programs next week?

Samantha is!

I always get super excited about getting back on campus and talking to ya'll about my second home. So, if you aren't excited, I'm hoping this blog will inspire some excitement as I describe to you the campus must-sees.

To start, we have a beautiful stained glass ceiling in Slocum Hall. Slocum Hall is the same hall that houses our Admissions Office. When entering the front door I suggest taking a right and walking up the stairs and taking a right in the Slocum Reading Room and looking up. And when your eyes go up you will be met by the stained glass wonderfulness. Now, I guess some of you are reading and thinking, Samantha, also of colleges have stained glass. And I would agree but I bet those other stained glass ceilings at those other campus don't have a picture of Abraham Lincoln on the stained glass.

Also at OWU we have one of the most giantest crosswalks and those of you that are visiting and taking a tour will be required to cross said crosswalk twice, at least, and hopefully more as you get a good long look at our campus.

Just trying to wet you appetite for OWU. Hope to see you next Wednesday.

Have a great one.

Blog blog

I am blog blogging. Though, that should be rather obvious since you've most likely found this blog through the bishop blogs, blog being in the name and all. I'm trying to think of something interesting to say, something not time wasting, but I'm not feeling very creative. It is for this lack of creativity that I switch from editing to blog writing . . . one writing to the next . . . and still lacking.

Maybe I just need a nap.

I had a family reunion this past weekend and it was fun and tiring and I was so happy to sleep in my own bed that I went to be early and my girl kitty was so happy to have the family home that she kept me up most of the night.

Yes, maybe a nap will help.

When I went to Donatos today, I wore my monster-eating-cupcake t-shirt and the guy who took our order really like my shirt. He told me it made his day and that made me feel good. I like to make people's days. And while this Donatos was at home, there is also one near OWU. And for those of you who don't know what Donatos is, it is a pizza place.

My cat is snoring. I think I'll join him.

Have a good one.

10 Away

I am 10 posts away from reaching post 150. Who'da thunk that a little blog started to promote my four year home would turn into something so magic-like? Not this cowboy, that's for sure and I know that in the blogging world, 150 posts is nothing significant. True bloggers would probably have 150 in a week, but I like to think that instead of being repetitive, each blog had a unique personality, much like my lovely OWU.

I am looking forward to my senior year yet a realization hit me. I've worked in the admissions office since my second week on campus and I am used to seeing my little tourees show up on campus the following fall. That will no longer be the case. Any tours I give this year will be to people I will never have the opportunity to know as OWU students.

Tis the rolling nature of life.

Have a good one.

PS: Hasani! thanks for the welcome back.

Tis bin some time

I said bin instead of been. hahaha. Oy, and no lie, "Gotta Find You" just came up on my mp3 player.

Anyway, so I think my last post was like May 3 or something ridiculous and so it has officially been two-ish months since I last blogged. But, I didn't feel like wasting ya'lls time when I really had nothing new to report. Exams were a bummer. I was busy. Now I'm home and not so busy because I can't find a job (is that really anything new?) so I'm running more just to get out my pent up energy.

I am working on independent study this summer (which I should be putting more time into but I'm not) which I will recieve credit for in the fall. The details are withheld due to my fear that somebody will steal my brilliance. But what is important to take away is that OWU is a great place for said adventures. When I approached my journalism professor with the idea, one that I thought would be shot down, she encouraged my exploration and for that I am grateful.

Ohio Wesleyan: cultivating ideas even during times of rest.

Have a great one.
